What? A real Coach purse? Oh ya, you heard me right.

Come on ladies, let's be honest. Some things were just made to make us smile. Smiling and laughter are great for your health. They lower your stress levels. So why is a health blog, for woman, talking about a Coach purse?

Simply this.... I am giving it away!! I am so excited about what Your Happy Hearts.com has to come, I want to start out by celebrating with my readers. And reaching out to find new ones.

If you are looking for that back breaking purse, this isn't it. But.... it's the perfect out-on-the-town purse. It compares to the "large wristlets" which you can find on the Coach site retailing for $119. This will carry your cell phone, organic lip gloss, a small wallet, and a few more necessities.  I guarantee this purse is real. It is NOT a knock-off.

How Do You Know If It's Really Organic?

As described on the Agricultural Marketing Service site: "Organic production is a system that is managed in accordance with the Organic Foods Production Act (OFPA) of 1990 (PDF) and regulations in Title 7, Part 205 of the Code of Federal Regulations to respond to site-specific conditions by integrating cultural, biological, and mechanical practices that foster cycling of resources, promote ecological balance, and conserve biodiversity. The National Organic Program (NOP) develops, implements, and administers national production, handling, and labeling standards."

So what does this mean for you and your family and/or household? If you see this symbol, you know it wasn't just handed out to anyone. The company had to apply and go through rigorous testing to be able to put this seal on their foods/items. They must be certified by State or private entity which has been accredited by the USDA (United States Department of Agricultural). Any agricultural product that meets the third party or State Certification Requirements, may be considered organic and carry the organic seal of approval.

The Cholesterol Delusion Book Giveaway

The Cholesterol DelusionThe Cholesterol Delusion by Ernest N. Curtis M.D. is an informative yet interesting read about the true facts of cholesterol.

Dr. Curtis received his B.A. in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Berkley and his M.D. from the University of California, completing his internship in Cardiology, he entered the private practice in Long Beach, California and has practiced for the past 32 years.

With many book reviews I try and sum up the book the best way I can. It always seem somewhat easier to use the authors summarization, as they know better than I, what point they are trying to get across.

The following is from the back cover: "Approximately one-half of the adult population of the United States are being told that they harbor within their bodies a silent killer. This "killer" is cholesterol. Millions are prescribed cholesterol lowering drugs making these pills the most prescribed (and most profitable) medication since the history of American Medicine.  They are told that these drugs will protect them from the ravages of heart disease.  This is patently untrue and can be easily demonstrated by critical analysis of the data presented in the very medical studies that purport to show their benefit."

Foods With Amazing Health Benefits #2

Garlic: Garlic belongs to the family of vegetables called Allium. Allium is simply onions, scallions, leeks and chives.  These foods protect against stomach ailments. Great for the digestive system.  Add garlic to your food in the form of whole garlic or garlic powders. Adding a little bit of garlic to each meal will help keep ones digestion  regular. Never store your garlic in oils as it can cause it to be harmful and/or poisonous. Garlic should not be stored in your refrigerator. It will go soft and mold faster. This goes for plastic baggies as well. Garlic should be stored in a breathable container away from direct sunlight.

A great way to store your garlic is in a Garlic Keeper. I love this particular jar and it's available at Amazon.com for only $16.90. There are several other jars to choose from, but this one caught my eye. They also make a nice Terra Cotta garlic keeper for only $5.95 if you wish for something a bit smaller and less expensive.

Foods With Amazing Health Benefits #1

I strongly believe everything which grows on this earth, given to us by our amazing Creator, is here for a reason.  Fruits, vegetables, and meats all have positive reactions in our bodies. They were created to balance our systems in their natural state and not be loaded with chemicals. This will only confuse our bodies cells.

If at all possible, when shopping for these amazing foods, reach for the organic labeled items, even if it's a few dollars more. The money you will save on doctor visits will be worth it!

Lets take a look at some amazing foods which we should all get a little bit more of. I hope to do a small series, as I couldn't possibly cover them all in one post.

Stress - Time To Deal With It!

I want to talk about stressful relationships. Sadly, we all  have had them at one point or another. Whether it be with family members or with friends. Even co-workers come in and out or our lives and for that moment in time, can drive us nuts. If you can move on, cutting those ties and letting go is never easy. I have had to cut friends and let them go as they were a negative influence on my life.  These high school games we sometimes play with each other aren't doing us any good. At some point we must grow up, step back, and make a hard decision based on what's right and healthy for us.

The hardest part is when the relationship can't go away and you have to learn to deal with it the best you can.  Always try and be the bigger person. Sometimes not saying anything at all will stop a fight or disagreement from going any further. Remember "Only hurt people hurt people". Forgive that hurt person and move on.  Don't dwell on what has happened or what could happen. Your HEALTH is worth more than that.
