Race for the Cure - Celebration Dinner

The evening of September 17th, I went to a survivor Celebration dinner. This was a time to get together with co-survivors (our friends and family who have endured it all with us), meet other survivors and supporters, and recognize those who have done amazing things in our community for breast cancer awareness.

Juliet Dragos, from our local WZZM 13 news channel, was awarded The Difference Is You Award and gave a touching speech. It was awesome to hear all she has done for our community for the past several years.

Me on far right with some other AMAZING survivors!
New Balance asked breast cancer survivors to model the Lace Up Collection.  New Balance gives $500,000 a year to Susan G. Komen from a percentage of the sales from the Lace Up collection. I was named the "Honorary Team New Balance Member of the Year" for my community. I will say it again, I do NOT feel I am any more worthy of this honor than any other woman who has had to go through breast cancer. After hearing the stories that came before mine, I felt so blessed I did not have to endure the things they have had to go through. Even though we all have our own journey and our own story, each one breaks my heart. I just wanted to hug all of these women as their stories were read out loud to friends and family. I feel so blessed my cancer was curable with surgery and a pill. God is awesome and God bless all the survivors!

September 24th is race day. I can't wait to share more stories and take pictures. Thank you again for all of your support.

From my heart to yours ~ Angie Christine.
