Miessence Organics

I am a firm believer that our environment has a lot to do with American's being at the highest risk for cancer.  Not only is it the food we eat, the laundry soap we use, but everything that touches our bodies. I am on the constant lookout for great organic products such as soaps, shampoo's and conditioners, as well as makeup and lotions.

I found Miessence Organics through a Google search and was given several samples of their products.

I sampled many of the facial cleansing line which seemed to work great. But I must confess I was not impressed with the smells. It seemed as if all the face lotions and cleansers smelled the same even if they were from a different line. Such as purifying, soothing, balancing, or rejuvenating. They all had the same smell to them. Just a simple organic smell. Which some of you may really enjoy. I like when the smell jumps out at you. Clean and fresh as face wash and lotions should be. The products worked nicely, although I only had sample packets. I couldn't tell you over a long period of time what the results were as far as changing the way my skin felt. The lotions did absorb in quite nicely. My favorite product was the Sunflower Body Wash. This had a nice fresh scent and when added to my buff puff, really gave off a great lather. It comes in an 8.5 oz sized bottle and retails for $14.50

Now the makeup on the other hand I was much impressed with. I received a medium shade Mineral Foundation Powder. I really like how well this went on and the appearance of it on my face. If I were to order again, I would go with the tanned color as I like my powders to be just a bit darker than my skin to blend in my light areas around my eyes. The container came sealed quite tight. It took me a while to peel the sticker off the little holes to then release the product out on my brush, but I would rather it be sealed extremely well, then not up to health standards. The powders retail for $34.50.

My favorite item is the Lip Creme in Nutmeg color. It's a very natural color which I like to wear. I am not big into the really dark lipsticks or lip glosses. I prefer my lip gloss to be in a tube verses the apply with you finger or brush method. But it does travel nice and is small enough to fit in your purse or pocket. There is no after taste which I really like. Did you know the average women eats two full tubes of lipstick a year? So with this choice of makeup, I would make the change to organic without a second thought.

My favorite product is the Jaffa Lip Balm. Made with shea butter, avocado and sunflower oils, to soften and repair dry lips and organic orange and vanilla give it a nice "flavor". It also has some what of a shine which I really like. I carry this in my purse. This is a product I don't go anywhere without. Although mine did not come as pictured. I have a roll up regular style lip balm case, which actually I like. Just make sure it doesn't stay out somewhere hot. It gets thin fast. I went tubing and had it with me in the dry cooler pack. It was really hot that day and my lip gloss was really soft. But still probably my favorite product.
