Victoria Jackson Makeup Review #2

YHH posted a review, "Victoria Jackson Makeup", on May 2nd, of 2009. I had no idea it would be my number one visited/read review. With 4,695 reads, it has landed my post #10 in the Google search for "Victoria Jackson Makeup" and the #2 spot for "Victoria Jackson Makeup Reviews".

As this product really didn't impress me much, I never thought to do a follow up review or say much more about it. But apparently readers want to know. So I am writing a part #2.

But first I must start out with saying my thoughts and ideas of makeup have DRASTICALLY changed since 2009.  I ONLY use organic plant based makeup. In my personal makeup case is the following:  Zuii Organic which I use for their eye shadows, mascara, foundation, and some bronzing powder. I also use Tarte Cosmeticis for their mineral powder bronzers and lip tints. And finally the newest member to my beauty case is Juice Beauty. I just started using the Stem Cellular Repair moisturizer and eye treatment and the Playful SPF 8 lip moisturizer. (review coming soon, and so far I love the stuff!).

So with that all said, back to the Victoria Jackson Makeup and my opinion. I have read all the comments you left me on whether it is good stuff or not. One comment said there was no website for the makeup so what does that say for the company. There is a website and as you can see I have linked it here. Another comment was the door to door scam or someone in an office selling the product. When I purchased my makeup, I bought it from Sam's Club from a display that was set up in the store. At that time, I had no idea it was a direct sales type company much like a Mary Kay. I wouldn't say it's a scam. To me a scam would be when you're purchasing something and didn't get all you were promised. Example: They tell you there are six eye shadows and you get home and there were only three and now you can't take it back. That to me, in my opinion, is a scam. I got everything they told me I would.

In regards to quality, lots of comments were made. Also in regards to the ingredients and if it was toxic. At this point in my all natural, all organic lifestyle, I would say anything is toxic unless it is certified organic. The hairspray you use, the shampoo and conditioner, the lotion, nail polish, deodorants, toothpaste, laundry soap, dryer sheets. How many of these things are you using on a daily basis? Those all have toxins seeping into your skin. So as of this date, I do NOT use Victoria Jackson makeup.

The bronzing powder brush I thought was a clever idea but soon found out it was really hard to get on in an even fashion. The first spot I touched my face with, it was where all the powder went. This particular brush did shed a lot. And over only a few uses the case fell apart. When you removed the lid the brush pulled right out. I don't think I used it but 10 times or so, and it sat broken in my drawer till about 3 months ago when I tossed/gave away all non organic items. The Survival Kit I also thought was a neat idea. I did use it but again only a few times. This was not makeup which impressed me,  as to use it on a daily basis.

The items I did like were the creme eye shadows you see pictured above. These did go on really nice and seemed to stay put.  I also had been using the brushes up till just a short time ago. I did not have any problems with them. I would say they may have shedded at the beginning of use but then stopped and were fine after that.  But all I use now are the Zuii Organic brush set which comes free with every $150 purchase.

So would I have purchased the Victoria Jackson Makeup again? Looking back, yes. At that point in time I would have. I did not feel ripped off. Was it the best makeup I have ever used? No. But I am the type of gal that buys all sorts of stuff just to dabble in it all. But as of todays date, I do not buy anything that is not organic plant based makeup, lotions, perfumes, deodorants, toothpastes, etc.
