No More Excuses

I made so many excuses when I started my fitness journey just over a year ago. I even made a pros and cons list to working out. Do any of these sound familiar to you?

#1 - I am too tired
#2- I have too many other things to do
#3- I just don't feel like it
#4- It was a rough day at work
#5- I want to go out to dinner and then what's the point of working out tonight
#6- I feel stupid because I don't really know what I am doing
#7 - It's too hard and I hurt the next day
#8- I have to get up early tomorrow
#9- I can't decide what to eat or do for workouts. I will plan it out for next week and then get started
#10- It's my birthday so I deserve the day off and this cake
#11- No one will workout with me
#12- I really wanted to workout alone tonight not with my spouse
#13- My TV show starts in 20 min. and I don't have enough time
#14- I have to deal with the kids first and foremost (OK I don't have kids, maybe that's one of your excuses.)
#15- I am so busy with church commitments I don't have time
#16- I can't afford a gym
#17- I hate working out at home
#18- I only want to workout at home but have no equipment
#19- I hate working out to DVD's I want a personal trainer
#20- I can't afford a personal trainer
#21- I can't afford the better groceries
#22- I only have time for fast food and frozen dinners
#23- My friends made me go out for lunch so now my day is ruined
#24- Maybe I can just order those pills on line and those will work. I'll try that next week.
#25- I don't know where to start

Do you want me to go on? I have said so many of these to myself depending on the day, the month, or where the moon was in the sky. Seriously!

Do you think when I started I could do a full pushup. No. I did about five on my knees. This isn't something that happens overnight.

You are going to be tired when you first start because you are out of shape. You are going to be sore the next day because you are out of shape. You aren't going to know what to eat, because you haven't done this before. You aren't going to have the money for it because it's not on the top of your priority list so you haven't budgeted for it.

Stop with the excuses and "JUST DO IT". Once you get started YOU get to take ALL the credit for YOUR accomplishment because nobody can make this change but YOU.

Get off your butt and workout and eat healthy. I am done being nice!

OK, maybe not. But do it already!
